Sashiko Workshop

Here at Be Inspired, we like to immerse ourselves in other crafts, besides knitting, crochet and weaving, from time to time!

Join us on the deck as we learn the ancient Japanese art of Sashiko stitching. We will learn the techniques needed to complete a hand stitched coaster, with imported fabrics included for the project, and the use of the special Sashiko threads.

May-Gene will also demo how to enlarge the design should you wish to continue with the art and stitch a cushion or table runner at home. Kits and fabrics will be available for purchase on the day.

Workshop fee includes materials needed to complete a coaster, tuition and tea/coffee and cake.

Please note: fee does not include needles which come in packs of 4 sizes, 2 needles of each size at additional R65 – maybe two can share a pack.

Saturday 10th October, 10-1pm on the deck

Space is limited, payment confirms booking, no cancellations less than a week prior to class, send a friend in your place if you cannot make it.

Ps. Photograph props will not be included in workshop! Fabric colour may vary.
