ONLINE Sock Snake Workshop

The purpose of this online workshop, is to get you comfortable with the principles of knitting in the round, as well as some techniques to expand your knitting skills. It is aimed at beginner knitters who may not have knit in the round before, as well as to those intermediate knitters who are not comfortable with sock heels and toes!

For those of you who do not want to knit a sock, you can make yours a sock head cowl

We will be knitting with short sock circulars (2,5mm 9″ circulars), or with short fixed circulars (40cm) or short tips (3mm and 4″ tips) and a short cable (40cm). If you are so inclined, you can also use the magic loop technique (for socks you would need at least an 80cm cable for this. (I must add this is my least favourite technique and not one I recommend especially for socks)

Techniques we will cover:

long tail cast on and joining for in the round knitting

twisted rib

stripes in ribbing, as well as jogless stripes

helical knitting

adding in new colours, weaving ends in as you go

simple colour work using Continental and English style knitting

heels and toes demo

Monday 25th May ONLINE via zoom meeting (log in details will be sent closer to event) 6pm – 7pm

There will be follow ups, with a recording of the session, plus additional support if required.
