Mini Turkish Spindle

These wooden Turkish spindles have been hand turned and crafted by a local wood artisan. They are mini spindles and make beautiful finer yarns as they are extremely light. I am self taught, and a beginner at best, so in my opinion, these light mini spindles allow a finer spin without snapping due to weight pull on the yarn. I also have a love for miniature hand crafted items, and as far as I am aware, these are the smallest hand crafted Turkish spindles in South Africa.

I have a range of imported fibres for spinning, as well as some locally sourced and dyed fibres. I will send a small sample of fibre with each spindle sold for you to try. I will also run a zoom get together to show you my basic skills to get you started. Obviously the date will be dependent on when you get your spindle, so I may do quarterly spin zooms whilst we are trying to stay at home and avoid covid. There are two sizes of the mini, the one is 5,4 grams approximately, the other is 8 grams. Then there is a double spindle – which two arm sizes (6,2 grams and 8 grams)
