KAROO Sock Snake Workshop

I will be teaching this class in the Karoo, at the Karoo Winter Wool Festival.

For those of you who do not want to knit a sock, you can make yours a sock head cowl

The point of the class is to be able to practice some in the round techniques, without any complications like shaping or heels and toes. We will essentially be knitting long tubes. This is a fun class, with a lot of opportunity to play with different techniques.

We will be knitting with short sock circulars (2,5mm 9″ circulars), or with short fixed circulars (40cm) – the cost of the needles and 3 mini skeins of cowgirlblues proper sock are included in the workshop fee.

Techniques:

long tail cast on and joining for in the round knitting

twisted rib

stripes in ribbing, as well as jogless stripes

helical knitting

adding in new colours, weaving ends in as you go

simple colour work

heels and toes demo for the sock knitters
