Florentine or Bargello stitching consists of a series of stepped vertical stitches, worked on canvas, typically over four or five threads. The name originates from a series of chairs found in the Bargello palace in Florence, which have a “flame stitch” pattern.
Each Florentine Frenzy kit has the canvas, a needle, acrylic yarns, lining, batting, binding, a ruler and instructions to complete your mini masterpiece.
Starting with a simple spectacle case, around 18 x 19 cm, you will become familiar with this technique, and can then advance onto larger pieces like cushions or bags.
